Who We Are
We’re Jamie and Franco Bernal, the husband and wife team behind Jonathons Coastal Living. Since 2001, we’ve been fortunate to operate this business and share our mutual passion for interior design with the Southern California community, and beyond.
A little bit about our backstory: we were both raised in families that operated businesses within the home furnishings industry. Our similar upbringings were just one of the many commonalities that brought us together as a couple, but they were the driving force behind our decision to go into business together.
Merging our passions for home accents and furniture design, Jonathons Coastal Living offers everything needed to furnish an entire home — from big staple pieces to small, detailed accessories — under one roof. Over the years, our unique retail operation has evolved into a full-service interior design firm staffed with an incredibly talented team. The best part is that we’re still as excited and joyful to come to work every day as we were when we started, twenty years ago.
It has been a pleasure to be in business for as long as we have, and we look forward to the many beautiful projects we have on the horizon. We hope to work with you soon.

As an interior designer, my goal is to create interiors with a fresh perspective that reflects the client’s personality through flow, color, texture and style. I believe that a well-designed space should evoke both a sense of calmness and joy! The homes and spaces that I create are elegant but interesting, easy and comfortable, often punctuated with a pop of the unexpected.

INTERIOR DESIGNER
Interior Design for me is a process of fashioning a look that is both beautiful and enjoyable for my clients. As an interior designer, I love creating spaces that are inspiring and thoughtfully eclectic. Whether my client’s beloved antique pieces are the start of inspiration, or I begin with a blank canvas, the end goal is to create a home with warmth and character. Ultimately, evoking a feeling of “I absolutely love my home!"

FLORAL DESIGNER
My visual merchandising background allows me to create floral arrangements with distinct features to complement specific styles. I learned the basics from my sister and added my own touch to create the beautiful pieces you see in the showroom.
